La Sirenita - Hyattsville

There are plenty of taquerias in Riverdale, and most are quite authentic. This place is a great find at a reasonable price! I enjoy getting delicious food in DC without breaking the bank. I ordered one steak taco and one barbacoa (stewed goat) taco, along with a side of guacamole. I really appreciate that they also provide chips and salsa. I've dined here about a dozen times, and it's always a delightful experience for under $20.

The lengua dish is my favorite, and I look forward to enjoying it as a weekly treat.

I wanted to try a random local restaurant for fun and chose this place because the parking lot was packed. We were excited as we entered, but that enthusiasm quickly faded. We weren't greeted upon arrival and walked past more than five staff members, including those in the dining area and at the front desk, who all ignored us. It felt as though everyone was staring at us as if we were out of place. The food was decent but quite salty and served lukewarm. The only friendly interaction we had was when we were leaving, when someone wished us a good night.

The flavors and presentation were delightful, showcasing the restaurant's culinary skills. However, the service was a bit lacking, which I rated a 3. While it wasn't terrible, there were moments where the staff seemed overwhelmed and slow to respond. On the bright side, the atmosphere was enjoyable, receiving a 4. The ambiance was inviting and comfortable, making it a nice spot to unwind during lunchtime. Overall, I would recommend checking it out!
