The staff are wonderful and the service is great. The food was okay. The pork was much better than the brisket. The brisket was good, but it was very dry (could have just been this visit). I will say the amount of food for the price is amazing. They do notskimp serving sizes. It's well worth a visit.
Sigh. Not what i was expecting at all for 1st time and it will je my last. The server was excellent and was very welcoming. But the only thing that was perfect was the Sweet Tea. 2 apps their nachos was like eating a stale salad. If everything there issmoked then it needs to be in alot longer. The chicken tastes like it's been up for a couple days. Tried the potato wedges withcheese and bacon. It was too earthy it almost tasted like they pulled it out the ground and let it set for weeks and thenmicrowaved it with cheese and bacon bits. Didn't even get past the first bite. Ordered the combo with pulled pork and brisket. And was just blown away that the brisket looked like shredded pot roast with BBQ sauce. Was absolutely not good at all. Commingfrom a place where BBQ is at its best and this wasn't it. A $40 tab and all the main entre went in the trash. At the next gasstation. THIS PROBALLY RUINED MY APPERTITE for the rest of the day. Nothing personal but did I mention I liked the server. Shewas very nice and the setting was okay I likes the fish tank in the wall it was a sight to see.
Our waitress was great! The biggest thing is that we were given sauces for the barbecue before our food arrived, which is perfect. However, when the barbecue chicken, pork, ribs, and brisket came to the table it was all drowning in the same sauce.I was only tasting the sauce and not the individual barbecue flavors of each meat. Very disappointed! I wish we had known thiswas the standard practice, since it was our first time eating there.
The lady who helped me was excellent, but unfortunately the food was not. I was excited to find a BBQ place on my travels, but I suppose I've been spoiled by living in VA and the Carolinas too long. I ordered the BBQ chicken platter, with mashed potatoes, potato salad, and 2 sauces. The chicken was tough, the mashed potatoes were cold (at 11:15 am! and gritty, clearly from a boxor leftover from the previous day. The potato salad was actually good, though! The BBQ sauce was a joke I ordered their houseand spicy. The spicy BBQ was literally the house BBQ with Buffalo sauce poured on top. I attached a photo I was so appaled. Iasked if the Mac and cheese was homemade, hopeful. Yes it's Velveeta but doesn't come from a box, according to my server.Sorry, but that's not really homemade. If you're not a BBQ fanatic, I'm sure this place would do in a pinch. Unfortunately, Iwon't be returning.
Loved the outside decor with giant animals and a real smoker. Inside decor is great. Rustic, classic, weird (a bbq restaurant with an aquarium?? . Our hostess/waitress was super friendly and responsive. My son and I both got pulled pork sandwiches which were delicious. Moist, not a huge amount of meat and very mild smoke but good sauce. The mystery dipping sauce for the crispy housemade chips was a strange mixture. Our waitress didn’t know what it was but it kind of seemed like blue cheese dressing mixed with ketchup. Super sweet tea! Very light crowd early on a Sunday afternoon. Loved it, would definitely go again.
