We have had two christmas lunches there and both times they have been o a very high standard, although this year seemed a little rushed, not as good as the year before. The food was very tasty but could be less seasoned with spices, the sorbet needs to be less spicy, lemon or raspberry instead of mulled wine. View all feedback.
We had dinner and both enjoyed the food thoroughly. The staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble.
This place is faultless. The staff, service, and food quality are all outstanding. You are consistently greeted warmly and served promptly.
I cannot praise the food at this restaurant enough. It is top-notch and I will definitely be returning for dinner.
Over the years we have only ever eaten here as very handy when travelling up and down the A1. Sadly over time the service has gone downhill. The staff very rarely smile, appear aloof and no personality! Unless of course, as we have noticed, you are a very regular guest and the staff are very welcoming to them. We have now given this hotel more than the benefit of the doubt this past 6 months, hoping for improvement, but alas no, so we will be looking for somewhere else to have lunch, almost certainly the Lion Pub opposite. The food is ok, no good if you are a vegan either. If you have a sandwich like we did yesterday, the salad didn’t have any dressing on. Got chatting to a lady who was not happy either and she was complaining about the lack of dressing on the salad and general attitude of the staff. We are very disappointed as the hotel appears to be lovely, looks can be very disceptive.
