What Saurabh Vinchu doesn't like about Bridget's Basket:
Went here because of its beautiful location and the great reviews. We even reserved a spot before we went. When we entered the place the host seemed to have a problem understanding my name even after repeating my name multiple times. After confirming that she did get our name they proceeded to sit us at a table with the wrong name. The food here was mediocre at best. Being from Dallas and having so many options I was... If you're looking for a fantastic atmosphere, fresh food, and cold drinks, your search ends here in Hunt, TX.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Mary Claire was fantastic; I felt like I had known her for ages! Kim was equally amazing! I will definitely be returning!
The spot was quite charming and had a lovely ambiance, but I decided to leave shortly after. I was too hungry to wait for someone to make me a sandwich at a restaurant. Instead, I drove into Ingram and went to HEB. It was definitely disappointing to experience such service because they had a great location and a cute setup.
Came here for a bachelorette brunch and we had a fantastic time! We enjoyed a wine tasting with the famous Bridget herself! We were seated at a table in the gift shop, which was cozy and perfectly private. The tasting came with 6 wines (2 whites, 2 reds, 1 rose, 1 dessert wine and a complimentary charcuterie board and ice cream to complement the last wine. Bridget was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations for pairing each wine with different treats from the charcuterie board. Notable mention for the various pickled goodies on the board I'm not a beet fan normally, but I could not get enough of the pickled beets! Bridget also noticed we were big fans of the dilly beans and brought out the entire jar for us to enjoy. The homemade vanilla bean ice cream we got at the end with the dessert wine (listen to Bridget and pour it over the ice cream delicious! was also amazing. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the general ambiance of Bridget's Basket was gorgeous and perfect for a bachelorette weekend. We were well taken care of and the bride felt very special. I'd recommend for anyone visiting Hunt, whether for a special occasion or simply for a nice brunch.
I want to like this place so much great setting, nice people. But our recent visit might have been our last, as the food took over an hour and when we finally got it, my burger was way overcooked (well but asked for medium rare) and my daughter's grilled cheese was burnt to a crisp (I could not believe they would even let it leave the kitchen that way). And this is not an inexpensive restaurant. Bottom line: if I am going to spend $18 $20 per sandwich, it better be worth it.....but it was not.
