My family and I stopped to get a coffee after I went to the Strawberry Festival carnival. There were 5 or so people in the line when we came in, which is probably unusual because many more people than normal in Humboldt because of this event. There was a woman who took orders so cheerful, really friendly and welcoming. Their pleasant and calm attitude was infectious. Even in the chaos of many people and orders, she w... View all feedback.
What John Moody doesn't like about The Coffee Shop:
Here for the strawberry parade came in to get some lunch. Ordered and waited 45 minutes and two of the orders were incomplete a b.l.t and a club with no tomatoes didn't say anything and still served it to us. Then we asked for the manager and was told he went to get tomatoes. Was told we would get a refund for the two orders and waited again. Then when I asked the manager if he was going to take care of it he said th... View all feedback.
We're definitely making this one of our must-visit spots if we pass through the area again! The lavender sweetened tea, chicken gumbo, loaded sausage and biscuit, chicken melt, and caramel cake were all fantastic! The owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating. If you're a coffee lover, their selection is impressive! We made sure to stop by again on our way out. If we lived nearby, I'd be here every day!
Vegetarian options: It’s great to see non-dairy options available for coffee. Kid-friendliness: I love that they offer low-temperature steamers for the little ones!
We've had two very different experiences with the Coffee Shop. The first was phenomenal. We were greeted by the owner, our drinks came in an orderly fashion, and the place was immaculate. The second trip was not. The baristas struggled with the volume of people. Drinks were served out of order, incorrectly, and slowly. The only saving grace was the knowledgeable cook. When he wasn't preparing food, he was out expediting orders.
- Ensure there are enough staff members to handle the crowd. Assign someone to clear tables and empty trash cans, and consider placing more than just two small trash bins around. - Keep a staff member at the register to prevent the line from stagnating for an hour. There are also some operational improvements that should be implemented regularly: - Update and print a new menu instead of using the old one with crossed-out items and inaccurate prices. It looks unprofessional. If cost is a concern, print on plain paper and have extra copies available at the front for patrons to review before ordering. - Avoid having trainees working on event days; they should be expected to work quickly and efficiently, which unfortunately wasn’t the case during my visit. - Hire a manager with restaurant experience who understands scheduling, training, and the expected workflow. - It's crucial to have more than one untrained staff member in the kitchen during peak dinner times. On a positive note, the social media marketing was well done, which is what initially drew us in. The decor was fun, and most guests embraced the theme. However, I need to see significant improvements before I consider returning.
This place was next to our stay and my wife and I enjoy coffee places. I really enjoyed the environment and tons of choices! More then just coffee ??they also have more then just one floor!Service: 5/5
