Ok here we go .. We arrived mid week , fancied a good fish restaurant , after climbing up an access staircase for football fans , we arrived at the restaurant , its nice enough inside , atmosphere was dead , not another customer in the building . Waitress was helpful , and kitchen looked immaculate , food was nice , nothing that I would rave about , it was OK , allowing for the lack of atmosphere and food being ok , I would be highly unlikely to re-visit , if your local and passing try it ... otherwise I don't feel its worth making a special effort for ..

You... read more Peix is an exclusive restaurant with excellent service. It has a generous eating area upstairs and the food is of the highiest quality, especially the fish. You also have the option of eating snacks(tapas) if you want to.There are views of the new promenade overlooking the river from the outside terrace.

After a short... read more We ended up here when traveling through Huelva during Holy Week. All the touristy places were packed (thankfully), so a local recommended us here. After a short cab ride we got to the Football stadium and up the stairs to Peix. Yes, it 's quiet, there were not too many people when we went, a few families that seemed pretty local. Yes, the prices might be a little above average, but the saying is true, you get what you pay for. Since it 's our honeymoon and we weren 't on a budget for this occasion, we went with the manager 's recommendation, the mariscada which was a big plate full of wonderful seafood. I don 't remember the names of all these things, but they looked like a whole spectrum between shrimp and lobster; I think one was called Cigala . Anyways, the flavor and texture of the seafood was out of this world, finger licking and all (we did get a little messy, but it was awesome fun). We also had some jamon as appetizer, and even had a taste of black paella. Let me tell you, if you 've had paella in the US, and not in Spain, you 're missing out big time. Particularly this one which had a few unknown (to me) species of seafood, along with calamari and octopus, which gives it the black color. It was a delicacy. I want to go back to Europe just to have the same food we had here. And we had a perfect service and a great time. I wish I can go back sometime soon.
