The Rustic - Houston

Had a really great time here overall. I went twice on my vacation and had great food both days. Wednesday late afternoon we were there for happy hour and had Tony and Alex at the bar and got AMAZING service. Thursday early afternoon we sat at the bar again and got mediocre service from 2 women bartenders. It felt like they were unfocused. We had to ask for menus... ask for water. And when we left they forgot to return my credit card and I had to double back for it. Ugh.

This location for The Rustic is very nice. It's kept quite clean at the entrance. I appreciate the live music and the atmosphere. Always a lot of fun to go have drinks. I went on Saturday with family and we had a great time. The Blue Cheese Wedge Salad had good flavor. The Rustic Burger made with brisket is delicious. The Texas Cheesesteak was also pretty good, slightly salty but didn't take away from the overall flavor. The Texas Hot Chicken Cheese was by far my favorite. The seasoning on the chicken was exceptional, and the sandwich was cooked almost like a grilled cheese. I loved that. I think that if it didn't come with pickles, this sandwich would be absolutely perfect. Careful with changing your potato chips for fries because there is an upcharge, no substitution, and there will be less fries than if you get the potato chips. Not worth the value for what you get in return. Totally up to you. We didn't get any adult beverages this time, but they had coke products. Now the service: our waiter was nice and courteous, however, his focus was shifted towards hanging out with other crowds or other servers at different times. We ran out of drink several times and needed refills. I think if there was a bit more focus on the customer, it would be a top notch experience overall.Parking: This location has very limited parking spaces, it is primarily valet only. When I was there, the valet was $10 I believe. You are able to park at the garage next door in between The Rustic and the Toyota Center, however, it may get pricey quick. I'd recommend just doing the valet.

Greatest frozen drink happy hour! Stop there for drinks and appetizers before the Astros game, highly recommend! Alex k and Nate treated us like rock stars, make sure to go see them. We came all the way from Cocoa Beach Florida and we'll definitely be back!!

Loved it here, great buzzy atmosphere and great live music. I wish this place was in the UK I would be in every weekend.

All the great reviews are true! Great place, fun, large, restaurant with plenty of seating, and fabulous atmosphere. The food is yummy, gods happy hour prices, EXCELLENT servers. Didn’t get to stay long enough to hear the live music but next time will make an evening of it.
