What Полин Мустакова doesn't like about The Black Labrador:
I wish the food or service was half as nice as the ambiance. The waitresses were rude and we felt very unwelcome as People of Color there. I ordered a bowl of soup which was half empty and very lukewarm and tasted like chopped tomatoes in a veggie broth carelessly thrown in with a gummy piece of cold cheese in it. One star because of the ambiance. What a waste of a great location! P.S. The menu is meat heavy so if yo... View all feedback.
This is a wonderful British themed pub with all the trappings of Dart boards, music written and played by famous Brits, and traditional English food. The bread pudding recipe was excellent! Fish and Chips was prepared with satisfactory presentation.
Love the atmosphere and decor and menu selections. The cheesy beer soup was amazing. Wings were good too. My blue burger and fries was huge. My son had the Somerset salmon/brie which was delish although salty. The salmon was smoked which was a pleasantsurprise. Our server brought the appetizers and entrees together. Not sure why. But all in all I'll be back.
When you walk up to The Black Labrador you feel like you're about to walk into a classy kind of semi-renaissance euro pub with interesting eats, lots of culture and craft beer. The exterior is a gorgeous visual candy-land of wall vines, giant chess andcafe style seating over a large open area embracing a natural and vintage vibe with great success. Photographers are here aroundthe clock. However the interior is reminiscent of a waffle house and the overall vibe is a little bit trailer park. The coffeemachine is budget and should have been retired ten years ago. Getting a to-go coffee results in a Styrofoam cup with a plasticlid and straw for approximately $5.
Loved their bread pudding. Service was a bit slow, but we did go late in the afternoon. Fresh fish and chips. A little experience. Supposedly dog friendly, the only place I saw was at the front of the restaurant, and they didn't have an umbrellaor a porch, just tree shading. Parking was tricky, it's hidden in the back near St. Thomas University. The restaurant is alsoa bit hidden, we passed it on our way looking for it. They don't have a visible sign to help you.
Had to stop! It?s a Saturday and you are out of Guinness Magners Cider! Unripened tomatoes in a classic spinach salad with cold AF bacon dressing. When bacon dressing is hot it is supposed to make the spinach wilt and is warm to the taste. Hubby hadfish and chips and they need to change the oil in the fryer! Good luck! Black Lab the best thing you have was decor and patio, Iwill give you that!
