Best ramen in Houston so far and I like the inconvenient atmosphere. Noodles are amazing and fresh made in-house (no frozen / shipped). Japanese owned and even their kitchen equipment was delivered from Japan. After visiting Japan, we really believed the more authentic rams. We really enjoyed the Dry Hakata Noodles as an appetizer. The manager was so friendly and gave us the backstory on all broths. There is a broth... View all feedback.
What Kay Sorge doesn't like about Samurai Noodle:
Juicy KARAAGE (fried chicken) and crispy KOROKKE (potato croquette)! Great ramen space with great service from the waitstaff and decor, just like back home in Japan. The ramen soup is also authentic, especially the SHIRO TONKOTSU, which is creamy and complex. The only regret I have is that the noodles are too briney, or maybe the brine is too strong.Egg noodles are too hard and short and torn. Please check the origin... View all feedback.
First time going. Went on a Tuesday for lunch, got sat immediately. If you are looking for fresh made noodles, this is your place! This place withholds alot of passion in their food. They are really trying to do it right and their dedication to make their food fresh really sets them apart from other places.Location: in a shopping center area with a shared parking lot. We were able to find parking pretty easily. Found restaurant by gps.Atmosphere: pretty small on the inside with a max capacity of 49 people. All tables, no booths. They can push Tables together for a larger group. Smelled good. Appeared clean. You can also see them making the noodles from the seating area.Service: Very friendly and personable. They approached us to ask how everything was and offered us an awesome tasting experience on the house! It was my nieces first time to the area she was dreaming of fresh noodles they 110% delivered!Food: dumplings, rice bowls, ramen, and more! We all ordered ramen- mushroom, tampopo shouyu, and shouyu tonkotsu and we all really enjoyed it. The marinated eggs were absolutely delicious in the ramen. The noodles were perfect and the broth flavorful. I do wish they had a drink station instead of bottled drinks.Vegetarian options: Vegan options available.Parking: Shared parking lot.
AMAZING ramen that is actually made in house! You can't find homemade ramen easily and here you can sometimes see them making it live! The food tasted great and the selection of dishes are all you need for a Top Quality ramen experience. I didn't order any alcohol but it looked like they had an impressive selection. Parking was a breeze for a Tuesday at lunch, too. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options were on the menu.Parking: Went on a Tuesday at lunch and there were several available spots.
This is a true little gem. A very pleasant surprise to discover this place. The shrimp dumplings are perfection and could easily become addictive. Both the Vegan Ramen and the Pork Belly Ramen were delicious and packed with flavors. This is one of the better Ramens we've enjoyed in Houston in a long time. We will definitely return! Oh, and really friendly service too!
I was excited to try Samurai Noodle since the other reviews are pretty good, but I must not have had the same experience as other people. I was really disappointed overall. The service was okay, and our waitress was sweet, but I could tell she was very overwhelmed and that the place was understaffed. I saw probably three people working there, including the whole kitchen staff. The food was the real disappointment, though. The takoyaki was okay, but the ramen was horrible. The broth was watery and flavorless, the noodles tasted almost stale, and the marinated egg was completely plain and cold. The Tonkotsu Ramen was especially bad; my friend dumped probably a whole cup of salt in there and the broth was still bland. What I ordered--the Miso Tonkotsu Ramen--was the best dish at the table, but it was still mediocre. I do hope this establishment can improve, since it seems to be a small business, but as it stands now, I don 't see myself returning unfortunately.
The food was great! I'm picky with my ramen but this place was great! Noodles were made by them as well! We had the dry garlic noodle and it was good! It was spicy but just enough for me to enjoy. We also had the house special ramen which is my favorite! It was full of flavor, it has both pork and chicken kaarage. The spicy garlic shouyo which is a chicken based broth. I substituted the pork with chicken. I like the flavor! It wasn't salty compared to other ramen places we go to. We will definitely coming back.
