Good service here and decent food. I got the number one for the takeover and it was good. It took about ten minutes for the order and the food remained warm even though I had eaten it an hour later. It was well packed in foil, which helps to keep the food warm. The taste was somehow clear, I would have got one of the Phillys with more blows. I wish there was a special sauce or something upstairs. The meat was good as... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pappa Geno's:
I love that they are available on cheese very different sandwiches, the gravy, so very unique, but not too unique that it away from the original philly. my sandwich was really good I had the number 3 minus the gravy added mayo. I was a little irritated that they served people eating in the house first vs my order, although I was one of the first people there. I was on the way back to dallas. they should do the comman... One of the best Philly cheese steaks I've had! Meat is tender, bread was really good, Seasoning was just right. A little pricey but worth it. Pretty hot inside but looking at reviews I can see the AC was out.Food: 5/5
Great food, I love this place. If you want a good cheese steak, please go here. But my love has faded over the past few years. Lots of turnover recently, with several employees having what seemed to be a permanent sour mood. Was slightly overpriced 4 years ago, now it's just ridiculous. Not only are sandwiches up about 30%, they've also taken away combo options so you have to pay more for your fries and drink.Inflation and the rising cost of doing business are reasonable and understandable motives for these choices, but $4 $5 for a simple order of fries cheese or not or nickel and diming the combos feels a little predatory compared to previously. The a/c is often out so the customer actually experiences less overall value for the dining experience for more money nowadays.
Great food, but get your order to go. This was my first time at Pappa Geno's. The place was unbearably hot inside. I asked one of the employees if the AC was out. She told me yes, then went on to tell me it's been out for an entire year. Fix the AC. I'd hate to be a cook in that kitchen.Food: 5/5
Pappa Geno's has the best Philly steak and cheese in Houston! Extra provolone extra mushrooms is the way I like it, and they never disappoint me. However, I miss the fried mushrooms and I think they should add it back to their menu. Overall, five stars!Food: 5/5
Overall, it's pretty good. One of the better cheese steaks in town. The cheese fries and disco fries are good. I usually or the #1 or #2 but had to try the fat philly once. The steak is really good but I prefer more pepper on mine. The bread they use is really good too. Service is generally friendly. My only complaint is it is sometimes much too hot in the building. Definitely worth a place worth trying.
