Long wait, but worth it!. I ate here for the first time and was impressed. I had a shawarma pita that came with all the salads I had in the pita (hummus, Israeli salad, various marinated vegetables) and one side of the frits. It was 7.99, and although waiting took a while (they definitely make it fresh here), the taste of Pita and Shawarma was just fantastic! The frits are only typical crumbling cut (probably frozen)... This is such a great find. Very vegetarian friendly. There are pizzas and sushi in addition to authentic Israeli fare. The mint lemonade is perfect! Highly recommended!
I was skeptical. A Jewish sushi place on Hillcroft??? Yep! Their sushi rolls are legit! I was very impressed by the freshness and quality. The staff was very kind, and gave me a free sample of a frozen drink they were working on. I will definitely go back to try some other menu items!
There are many different things going on here and let me tell you this place does it ALL so well. I throughly enjoyed my meal here and will be making it a routine stop.
The restaurant has an Israeli atmosphere. My favourite item is Falafel and Fries and they have some great bakery items for the desert...

The frits are only typical crumbling cut (probably frozen), but if you come to an Israeli restaurant for the frits, this is probably not your style anyway. The menu varies widely and features Laffa and Pitas as well as Bureka, Borsch and other Middle East specialities. Look at them; just go if you have nowhere else to be an hour or something.
