Food was fantastic and so were the cocktails. I wish there were options for half servings so that I could mix and match dishes (although I didnât ask, maybe itâs off-menu). We were sat closely to two other tables in an otherwise empty restaurant which is fine, it just was a bit loud and crowded. The servers took a long time to bring our checks after we declined the desert menu. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kiran's:
Upon arrival and getting seated, there was confusion and an obvious sense of the wait staff being overwhelmed. We waited at least 10-15 minutes before our waiter arrived to even take our drink orders for afternoon tea. We waited 30 minutes for milkshakes for our kids. The entire experience was more of the same long wait times for portions of the meal that were overpriced and underwhelming. Will not be recommending to... View all feedback.
We are always so satisfied with our experience here and enjoy the hospitality and food and the environment. Thank you for hosting us again. Elizabeth Littlejohn
Excellent food, waiting service was great and the restaurant was nice. Below were the first three bottles of Rosé, which I had ordered, not available and the fourth was not cooled, so had to wait 30 minutes before I could have a drink. It would have been good if we found something available once, it was ready to drink, but I expect better from this level of restaurant.
Delicious food in an elegant environment. we will return soon.
Kiran's is a large restaurant with a number of rooms so it is not noisy. It is, however, rather expensive for the quality of its food. We ordered a lot of different dishes as our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, and I found that many of them lacked the intense flavors that I expected from Indian Cuisine. It's almost as if the chef decided to make the offerings bland so as not to offend American palates. For an Indian restaurant it is also quite expensive. My crab appetizer had very little crab and a lot of lettuce. It cost $26. My cocktail was $22. Even vegetarian sides were over $20. Our bill, with tip, ran close to $400. The lamb korma had no punch and little flavor. The naans were excellent, the bhindi were good and so was the eggplant. I have found small, far less pretentious Indian restaurants in Houston with more flavor and less expensive.
This restaurant has a beautiful decor and a modern atmosphere. The food quality is excellent, but the dishes lack flavor. The portion sizes could also be bigger for the price. The service was average, and the servers could be more attentive.
