This spot is one of my old man’s favorites. Great price, good quality food, with a good quantity. They are always polite and fast with their service. Would definitely recommend to anyone that misses those old style enchiladas, your grandmother would make. View all feedback.
What Houston Foodie doesn't like about Don Carlos Mexican:
The food at Don Carlos in Harrisburg was quite good, but there were a few issues during my visit. I had previously ordered the little flauta/taquitos with margaritas at a table, but this time was told it could only be ordered at the bar. Another issue was the slow service, even though the restaurant was not busy. Additionally, the restaurant had a strong odor that could be improved with better lighting for a deep cle... We visited Don Carlos on our visit to Houston. We arrived at a good time, before noon, it started to get busy after 12:30. The environment, decorations and service was great. The food was delicious, very tasty, Portions are big. Prices are not bad for the service and quality you are getting. Great restaurant overall. I would recommend to eat at Don Carlos if you are in Houston.
What?s better than Happy Hour? ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR!!! And that?s just what Don Carlos offers every Saturday! My husband and I went there for the delicious Mexican food but stayed for the great drinks at great prices! It?s always really nice to sit down and enjoy a meal with loved ones and friends, and it?s even better when the food and atmosphere is wonderful?.you get both at Don Carlos. We went around 6:30 pm on a Saturday and it wasn?t crowded so seating was prompt and so was the outstanding service given by Robert. We had a fantastic evening and will always patronize the particular Don Carlos ??
Came in for lunch. Ordered a Caldo de Res which comes with tortillas of choice and a side of rice. Rice was slightly sour and soup vegetables were...
We (party of 2) arrived at 4:30 pm on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was not busy. We were sat immediately and our drink ordered were taken. The service was fast. The food was good and everything tasted fresh. The prices are affordable and the portion sizes are sufficient. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. I didn?t care for the flavor of the beans that came with it. My cousin enjoyed his burrito and Campechana appetizer. They gave us chips and salsa. One of the salsas tasted like it had avocado ? in it and was pretty good. When you walk in they have a table that gives a visual of some of their entrees. I did have to wait for drink refills on several occasions which is always annoying especially when a place isn?t busy. Our waitress was nice but she didn?t listen. I asked for our check to be split and she brought one check. I placed a to go order for a chimichanga and asked for the queso cheese to be placed in a separate container on the side. When she brought it out, the queso was on top with extra in a separate container on the side. That was annoying. I paid $16 for a chicken Chimichanga. The price was fair for the portion size, amount of meat inside and sides. The restaurant looks very old and needs to be updated. The leather in the seats of the booth we sat in were cracked.
