Very authentic and tasty Tex-mex dishes! Our waiter (wish I got his name) was very friendly, attentive and went above and beyond in serving us. If I lived in Houston , I would make this one of my regular spots. View all feedback.
What Loving Heart doesn't like about Candente:
If you have asthma do not eat here! The food was fine. Nothing too special about regular Tex Mexican food. It's over priced. The entire indoor fills with smoke when they cook. It was so bad that we had to step outside a few times just to get some air.The smoke so thick we felt nauseated. Not good at all for atmosphere. Do not bring your children here to dine indoors!!!If we ever choose to return it will be in the fall... View all feedback.
Such a warm, cosmopolitan experience. I felt like I was in a haven where love of good food and good companions was the sole focus. The carnitas were EXCELLENT and so were the Enchiladas Verde. We were too full for dessert. ?This is definitely a restaurant to share with special friends and family.Their outdoor dining is so charming and inviting (just not when the temperatures are 100+ . If you want a romantic night venue or a great hangout place for old friends, definitely try Candente after dark. One of the best amenities is FREE garage parking for guests.
The brisket nachos were unique and delicious. The brisket was lean meat. They have medium and large sizes. We shared the medium size ~8 nachos) and a cheese enchilada plate between 3 of us for a light late lunch. The service was great, the food didn't take long and the atmosphere was pleasant. I will go back! We parked easily in a garage connected to the restaurant.
Great food, lively atmosphere, and cold margaritas. In my opinion, better than Ninfa’s and El Tiempo. Meats are grilled or smoked. Enchiladas are little bit on the spicier side. I recommend the house or top shelf margarita on the rocks.
Ill start by saying that i am a territory sales rep that covers the entire southern border. I have had A LOT of mexican food. The chicken fajitas i had here were some of the best i have ever had. Everything was fresh. In true texan style the meats are cooked over a woodfire and the portions are big. The lime butter was a fantastic touch from the restaraunt, and the service was fast and friendly.Absolutely reccomend and i will be coming back.
