Boca2 Gastro Bar & Bites - Houston

Service was fine, quiet cozy ambience, but the food really is not great. The chimichurri steak we ordered was cold and of poor quality; when we brought it up to the server, they opted to regrill it.... And so the cut became overcooked and not really edible. The spicy potatoes were solid, but a tad overdone with spicy mayo. Best part of the meal was some prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and the free appetizer bread and olive oil.

Hard to review a restaurant when it was not open for business

I appreciate the live music, it was a pleasant surprise! The olive oil and bread were fantastic. However, the marinated olives were too sweet for my liking. I liked the concept of the citrus marinade, but this particular batch was a bit overpowering. Overall, the meal was well-balanced and enjoyable.

Very disappointing. The place was locked and not open even though their sign said it was. Is this place still open for business?

We didn't need the reservation at 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday, as the restaurant was empty. But, the food was great, loved the wine, and really enjoyed the meal overall. It was a terrific birthday dinner! Prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be back!
