I have always enjoyed this cute bistro on Westheimer. I go there for the fabulous escargots appetizers and whatever fresh main course. This time my wife was impressed by the tenderness of the Young Wild Boar with prune piure, and I enjoyed the Rainbow Trout daily catch. All large tasty portions, accompanied by a full bodied, good value Malbec from Mendoza. View all feedback.
What A F doesn't like about Bistro Le Cep:
The food in general was pretty good. Restaurant was quiet at the time we were there, however I was kind of disappointed in the environment. It looked really nice, but there was a heavy lingering smell of wet rotting wood and mold. As if the restaurant got flooded and never got restored properly.Food: 4 5 View all feedback.
Very good food, though my wife's filet was not as tender as I expected it should be for medium rare. Other than this, the other dishes we are all quite tasty and flavorful. Excellent wine list and a very good recommendation by our server who was quite knowledgeable. Overall very good experience.
Excellent food and service. Our server was especially personable and pleasant; reasonable price for quality and service. Our favorite go to place!
Food is good, service is excellent and its a place where you can have a conversation and be heard without having blaring music from above
Very traditional and cozy set up. Atmosphere was very quiet with patrons able to enjoy soft conversations. Limited menu options and priced a little more than what i expected. Professional and experienced servers with good service.Food: 4/5
The once upon a time, charming, little quaint French country restaurant has fallen into, perhaps to the curse of COVID-19. Gone is the elaborate book menu, instead, a one page laminated menu was presented at arrival. I felt like I was dining in an IHOP restaurant. We ordered two cocktails and they both tasted terrible and has a funny smell to it. the French onion soup was extremely average, but the escargot Was served lukewarm. At this moment we decided it’s time to make a move. When They asked was everything OK? I replied with the issues with the escargot, however, no attempt was made to correct the problem at hand. I don’t think I can recommend this restaurant to anybody Despise its former glory and its charming ambience!
