Contribute Feedback**Exploring Berryhill Baja Grill: A Tex-Mex Experience** Berryhill Baja Grill in the Houston Heights offers a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of a Mexican cantina, complete with murals and a spacious interior. While the food generally earns praise for freshness and flavor, some dishes can be hit or miss, and service is order-at-the-counter style, which may detract from the dining experience. The restaurant is known for its affordability, but amenities such as drink refills and salsa pricing could be improved. Despite a few drawbacks like noise levels and occasional service hiccups, Berryhill remains a solid choice for casual Tex-Mex fare.
I had the most amazing experience! I can't emphasize enough how fantastic both the service and the food were. My son, who studied at university, recommended this place. The staff were incredibly friendly and even helped us arrange the tables. They graciously allowed us to bring cupcakes and decorate the tables. It was an afternoon filled with love and a few drinks — simply perfect!
During my first visit, I found the atmosphere to be very family-friendly. I appreciated the spacious setting and the excellent variety of food options. The Korean brisket taco was especially delicious, and the original fish taco was on par with Wahoos.
Great drinks and the best Tex-Mex around! The staff is very friendly and engaging, making you feel right at home!
The first time you ever talk here. the containment at the bar was extremely helpful. I eat only other fish and beetles than that I consume no other meat. she took her time to run me through the menu. I went totally vegetarian, but fish sounded great! So I got the bosa fish burrito and the first mouthful was sweet joy. I'm always going. bon apetite!
Food was OK. The tamales and roasted corn were passable, but other items were pretty bland. The biggest issue is price. While the price isn 't too far off the mark compared to similar style restaurants, the amenities (or lack there of) just can 't get me there. There are no refills on drinks, you pay full price each time. The chips are free, but the salsa is .75 cents per person per bowl . You don 't even get to sit down and enjoy the company of friends because after receiving your menus, you have to get up and order your food at the bar/counter like you 're at a fast joint. It 's basically Torchys or Velvet Taco style service at twice the price. If friends wanted to meet up here for a quick bite before heading to a show, I wouldn 't refuse to go. But, I also wouldn 't suggest Berryhill if I was asked.
