Hòu àn Hǎi Chǎn - 厚岸町 日本

This was the most delicious oyster I have ever eaten! I was not particularly fond of oysters before, but since I came all the way to Akkeshi, I decided to try them. I ordered oyster fry and oyster rice, and was surprised by the absence of any fishy smell and the abundance of sweet umami flavor. The clam soup that came with it was also exquisite! It was thick and delicious! They also sell oysters and clams at the shop, and I was surprised by the affordability. I envy the people of Akkeshi... There was a cherry blossom festival at the nearby Konoyono Park, and the festival staff recommended this place to me, for which I am grateful! I didn't have many chances to eat oysters in Hokkaido before, but now I feel like trying more. Coming to Hokkaido has brought me another joy to look forward to.

I had the curry rice (large portion). The sauce had vegetables melted into it, and there were chunks of tender pork! The spiciness was just right, not too spicy or too sweet, it was just the way I like it. I ordered the large portion, but I wish there was a bit more rice. The restaurant was bustling with tourists and local fishermen.

I visited the famous cherry blossom spot, Koyo Hi Park in Akkeshi, on May 14, 2022. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and there was a cherry blossom festival happening, so there were quite a few people around. However, it wasn't too crowded, and I was able to dine at this restaurant located in the parking lot. I think the oyster set meal was reasonably priced and delicious.

厚岸ブランド牡蠣の直売所兼食堂です。 産直だけあって、リーズナブルな価格でブランド牡蠣をいただくことができます。 生牡蠣、焼き牡蠣共にありますし、両方食べれる牡蠣尽くし定食もオススメです。 Googleマップでなぜか分類がスーパーマーケットとして登録されておりましたので、訂正させていただきました。

牡蠣づくし定食を注文。 昼過ぎのせいか、私の前に1組帰り。入店してるのは私1名のみ。 店内は広く、若い女性1人で対応していました。 私の後に女性客1名入店。その方も、牡蠣づくし定食。 フライ、焼き牡蠣、酢の物、アサリの味噌汁、小鉢。 食べ応えは充分で牡蠣も新鮮でプリプリジューシー。 とても美味しかったです。 店の前は公園で環境も良く。 女性1人でも気軽に利用できます。 また、伺いたいお店です。
