Ouachita Mountain Smokehouse

I love this place! It is a charming little dive overlooking the Driving Range. Coming from TX, I'm picky about BBQ and everything was delish (including the Desserts pages. More importantly, you could say that it is really important to them... not only with the service to the table, but they (Miss Pauline?) offered to refill our teas when we went out of the door. They want to spread the word to help hard-working entrepreneurs like these. :

This restaurant has a very homey vibe with exceptional staff. Our hostess was very conversational and we enjoyed a very nice talk and meal. The food was served hot and fresh with plenty of flavor and loved cooked into every bite of our meals. I recommend this place to everyone possible A !

The onion rings were moist, crunchy, sweet, hot and delicious. A half order was enough for a starter for two. We shared the smokehouse platter (pulled pork, brisket, sausage, rib, 2sides mac&cheese and texas toast. All the meat was fall off the bone tender and flavorful. So good we went back to try the chicken and loaded potato.

Good barbeque. Not great, but good. All the sauces were very sweet, and none were hot enough, but still edible. Also, the slaw is a little sweet, the potato salad is your typical mayonnaise potato salad, not the super yummy baked potato salad, and the beans were spot on. Definitely worth the money!

Food was decent. Good server. I asked for onion rings as an appetizer. 15 minutes later I ask about them. Server said she told the cook. The onion rings came with the meal. I would had like to give a four but this was the second time I asked for onion rings as an appetizer. They came with the meal too
