Good food but a little slow service. Might be too crowded that day. Overall well worth a visit. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
We started with the beef carpaccio and then ordered the halibut and the mountain trout! Everything was absolutely delicious and very friendly staff with prompt service! I will be coming back! I highly recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I came to Horten and Fishland for one reason this sunny summer day, to taste reker i trengsel (shrimp and lots of them... , which I remember from several years ago as a very nice experience. I was deeply disappointed. The prawns were not served on a slice of bread, or as Skagenrøre , but on cabbage salad, with two onion rings, a splash of mayonnaise and a bit of lemon; NOK250!! It adds to the negative experience that the waiter forgot the order, not only mine but others as well.. Long time waiting after reminding the waiter.. Consider not coming here if it 's not for drinking beer by the quayside. Suggesting you visit the Indian one next door, where everyone was smiling..
Phew! This was a really disappointing experience! Have good memories of this restaurant, great service and really good food. Unfortunately, canteen food is now overpriced... more than NOK 400 for a rack of lamb with herb crust. Took 1 hour before the food arrived and the lamb for both the baby girl and me was completely (and I mean completely) raw. After sending it back it took over half an hour for the food to come back. The lamb was without seasoning, even without salt and pepper. And there were 4 of us who couldn't find a trace of an herb anywhere. Served alongside potatoes that weren't tender yet and slightly overcooked broccoli and carrot. The sauce was good in return. But all in all an incredibly disappointing experience. Have seen what this restaurant was capable of and as other reviews here have mentioned they have lost their way big time. If you're going to eat, steer clear. If you want a cold lager in the sun, this is a great place to drink it
Fishland _was_ once the best restaurant in Horten. It was a famous place for business dinners etc. Unfortunately, it has been greatly lost. On my last visit I was assigned a young waitress who could not have received a minute of training. Half the menu was sold out, and she couldn't account for what they had and didn't have. The excuse was that they were going to change the menu that weekend, but a month later the menu is still the same. The restaurant wasn't even half full, but it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The hamburger was nice, but my lamb was so small it could have been an appetizer. It will be a long time before I go here again.
