Il Piatto Restaurant - HORSLEY PARK

So the saying goes...."Don't ever judge a book by its cover...." and this is especially true of Il Piatto... On the same plot and adjacent to a fuel station this 'Italian masterpiece' may go undiscovered.... Once in you notice how large it is and many covers there are and it was reasonably busy for a Tuesday lunchtime away from the madding crowd and ideal for a business lunch when visiting the Clay Lane Industrial area... The food is delicious and having been once before when in Australia on business I was keen to go again and take a customer and senior colleague.... It did not disappoint on any level.... Great restaurant and part of its Beauty is its understated and unflattering fascia, but once you know (any many do!) you'll love it....

We had dinner here, and I wasn't overly impressed. Food was average, service was on the slow side. The highlight of our dinner was the coffee, which was particularly nice.

We recently had two functions here within two weeks. The food for the first function was standard however the staff is quite young and the placing of food was not spread out evenly on the tables which made the food very hard to reach. For this reason, a floor manager should be present. During the second function, a family member found multiple hairs (5-6) in his main meal which is disgusting !! During both functions, the staff members created an environment where we felt as if we were rushed to get out. For example, it was only 9pm and our glasses were already being taken away when many were not finished. Overall, from this experience, I believe this place to be dirty- the toilets smell very bad and the hair in the food is something that is unacceptable. Will never eat here again!

Their pizza's are to die for, and all their mains are excellent, a favorite is the scallops, zucchini flowers are the best. Actually no matter what food you order is excellent and the staff are terrific, nothing is a problem

It doesn't look like much from the outside, it's really deceiving! The we we there one of owners came & chatted to us which was lovely. The waitress's were all outstanding, gave fantastic service & were very well mannered (something you don't see very often these days!) the owner said they 330 people booked in for dinner that night but you wouldn't know it with private areas throughout. The food was amazing, we had Zucchini Flowers, Chilli Honey Calamari & Lobster Ravioli, everything was top notch. There a lot to choose from on the menu it was so hard to choose so something for everyone's taste buds. I would give 20/10 if I could! We received a bottle of bubbles on the house!
