Great hotel, super friendly staff. It was nice to be away from the touristy Waikiki strip. Most people around hotel are locals, except the hotel guests of course. Met some nice locals who chatted with us about the area and the resident monk seals. Grab your camera! Only a 5 minute walk to the Waikiki restaurants and shopping (Kalakaua Ave). Upon arriving, James helped us with our bags and helped us pick a nice parking spot for our rental car (free parking). Plenty of parking under the hotel structure, right in front of the main hotel doors. Rhian checked us in and even helped take pictures of us near the fountain (she saw that we were struggling with selfies, haha). We saw James and Rhian most of our trip, and they were both super friendly and helpful. Our room on the 12th floor was fantastic. Views of both Diamond Head and the Ocean. We sat on that balcony many times, sipping coffee and eating snacks. It was so relaxing. We went snorkeling off the beach just next to the Outrigger Canoe Club (it's a public beach). Super short walk from hotel. Grab towels at front desk. Water was clear and warm. Saw 3 turtles and a bunch of fish. There's an outdoor shower next to hotel to rinse off sand. We loved the TBD Bar Lounge...and the 2 free glasses of wine during the 5pm-6:30pm social for hotel guests. We ordered food and cocktails too, which were delicious. Bartender, Ostein, is a master at making pretty, delicious drinks. We also saw James, doing double duty as a server. Awesome! Julie, the hotel manager, was there greeting guests. She is so nice. Thanks for a great trip, Lotus! See you all next time.

My boyfriend and I loved the Lotus Honolulu! I had booked the Lotus through the Southwest Airlines website. The price was decent (for Hawaii) and the location was near Waikiki Beach, but a little ways away in a quieter area called Diamond Head. Also, I received 16,000 Southwest Rapids Rewards miles for our stay! Miles are always a great bonus. The hotel is situated near a large park. It is not right on the beach, but the beach is literally a two minute walk, on the other side of the hotel next door. We never had any difficulty finding a parking spot. The front desk staff were exceptional! Everyone we interacted with were very friendly, helpful, and upbeat. They offered lots of suggestions about places to eat in the area. Our favorite restaurant, by the way, was the Barefoot Beach Cafe, only a 7 10 minute walk from the Lotus. It had been recommended by another Yelper who had eaten all her meals there. We ended up eating 90% of our meals there because the food was so good and the prices were reasonable. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it was quite high end, so we did not give it a try. There is also a well stocked convenience store at the hotel next door, in case you need water, snacks, toiletries, etc. Our room was very spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The room seemed to be soundproof. We could not hear our neighbors on either side of us. The bed was comfortable and there was a large TV in the room. The toiletries were Lather , which is a great brand. The balcony offered a view of Diamond Head and a partial view of the ocean. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and bird watching at dusk. There is an amenities fee, which covers parking, bike rental, beach chair rental, and yoga classes. I did not know about the yoga classes until I checked out the Lotus website. I was thrilled to receive a free private yoga session on Saturday in the park. It was really an awesome experience. They even provided a yoga mat! Just make sure you sign up with the front desk ahead of time. The only bummer was the lack of places to charge our phones in the room. Otherwise, we had a wonderful visit and would stay at the Lotus again.

The hospitality customer service training is probably the strongest I've seen on this island possibly all of Hawaii. When combined with the picturesque location, it's clear to see why this hotel would have won multiple travel awards over the years. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart significantly after check-in for me: I booked through a third party so this may just be the least-effort room appointed for those integrations, or the property management is largely in decline. YMMV. Our bathroom had the most black mold I've seen during these last few weeks in Hawaii. Not just in poorly-lit corners of the shower, but also in the dirty grout lines walls floors , in-between the wallpaper, on the walls. The shower is very small 4 x4 ? so it's puzzling on how the cleaning standards can be so low, in out. The room was generally not very-well maintained: cracks in the ceiling-paint, corrosion on the fire sprinklers ! , peeling baseboards wallpaper, dead bugs INSIDE the thermostat bathroom light fixtures... I originally planned to extend my stay try a larger room, but upkeep other issues restaurant, smoking guests, noise , dissuaded me from doing that. Very disappointing would not recommend especially room 923 .

Our room was very comfortable, and I have no complaints about the accommodations or the bathroom. On the second floor, there’s a restaurant and bar, along with complimentary wine tastings at certain times, which we attended and thoroughly enjoyed. While they only have four bikes available for rental, we never had any trouble securing one. Biking to Waikiki Beach and exploring the nearby shops and restaurants was a breeze. We also rented a car for our trip, and having free parking was great; we never had any issues finding a spot. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay! After a long day out, I always looked forward to returning to Lotus.

Our stay was quite enjoyable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The restaurant, Arden, was a real highlight. Christieann provided excellent recommendations for local dining and sightseeing. The employees truly deserve a 5-star rating, but I averaged my score to a 4 because our room only warranted 3 stars. We encountered some issues with the bed, a buckling floor, and peeling wallpaper at the seams. However, these problems were not significant enough to spoil our first visit to the islands. My biggest complaint arose during check-in when we were unexpectedly confronted with a change in the parking policy. I had made our reservations three months in advance (except for the resort fees) and was informed at that time that parking options would either be self-parking or paid valet. However, management decided to change this to only valet parking at a cost of $40 per day. While I was aware that I would need to pay a resort fee of $273.68 at check-in, I was charged a total of $608.72. It's important to note that if I had canceled my reservation within 72 hours of check-in, I would have incurred additional fees and would have had to find another place to stay. While policy changes are not uncommon in the hospitality industry, it was frustrating that registered guests were not informed of this change until check-in, leaving us without the opportunity to shop around or cancel if we chose to do so. The new policy should have only applied to reservations made after the change took effect, with the updated fees included in the quoted room rates. Additionally, during our stay, a gym was opened which added $10 to the daily amenities fee. Between both the parking and gym fees, guests were looking at an extra $50 per day at check-in.
