found this treasure in a family holiday. A really wonderful French jewel in the heart of Hong Kong. Staff are both friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable about their wine and menu. The cook was always more than happy to come to our table and give a background for the cheese that made the experience really wonderful. The cream brulee was also amazing! Would recommend to all friends visiting Hong Kong. View all feedback.
The fantastic dinner set is appropriately named! Great value for good French food with free river wine. The cheese should die. You won't find any better wine and cheese than this place. Service is attentive and the owner was so generous to share his stories (and have I already mentioned his wine?
Hosts (left) very knowledgeable and happy to share re their >50 cheeses and their Cotes de Rhones!
A quiet and genuine French corner, in a busy and crowded area. If you crave for good bread and cheese to accompany a glas of wine, this is the very place. It is simple, quiet, cosy. The French chef and the boss are welcoming you with a smile, a cosy chat and a knowledgeable advise with respect to wine and cheese. If you’re looking for a pleasant corner to end your working day/week while tasting genuine savors and products, instead of drinking a beer in a crowded and noisy bar, where you need to shout to make sure your partner hears your words, definitely, La Fromagerie is a perfect option.
Would be a rather average place, if it was somewhere in Franche Comté, Rhône Alpes or Switzerland. But, in Hong Hong this should be quite a favourite place for anyone seeking for authentic French food. The menu and the place itself are both truly authentic. And then the place is clearly expensive and the hosts are true professionals , focused on guests which spend good money i.e. those interested in the wine. I guess I 'd have received more attentive service also, if I 'd switched to French.
It is so great to have such a piece of France in Hong Kong. Wine and cheese, explained by the french owner, Thierry, will make you travel without moving from central HK. Definitely a place to try out... and most probably become a regular.
