Holmen American Legion Post 284

We had our post elopement reception here and we couldn't have asked for a better place. Staff was great and the space was perfect. If you're looking for a great space that offers a lot of flexibility this is a great spot. The park just outside also made it great for all the kids (and kids at heart) to run around and have fun.

Sorry for long post…Imagine this, if you will: 75 year old retiree who frequents this establishment regularly just to play the poker machines and bingo. She regularly loses but still likes to play. She arrives on a volleyball night with her daughter to play and somehow wins on one of the machines. Cashes the ticket and it doesn’t print, which happens frequently…. She tells the bartender, leaves her name, address and phone number. Puts money into a different machine and guess what, she happens to win again! Excited now, wants to print the ticket, has her daughter video tape the machine, pushes the button again and oh no, no ticket again! No problem, right, we have video! Now in for $266. $106 on the first ticket, $160 on the second ticket with the bartender as witness. We can come back next day and get money, bartender is a witness. Except that the next day she is told that someone cashed those tickets and got the money…. So who is the thief? Asked for a call from the commander, no call. And yes, I am a veteran. I expect better from this organization. Representing veterans, this organization has an obligation to stand for the same values as we did, honesty, integrity, duty honor country. Totally unacceptable. If you want to frequent a business that operates with integrity, find another one.

They take their bingo very serious and if you laugh or show any signs of enjoying yourself this is not the place for you. I had my hand on my girlfriend 's leg and this crazy lady accused of messing around I almost died laughing. Past few times we have been there we added a lot to the pot but won 't be buying into this bullspit anymore. If you want to play bingo and have a good time this is not the place to do it.

One of the best fish fry's in the area. Fun, friendly place to support your local veterans!

They have DJ/Karaoke on some weekends and some great bands on other weekends. Bingo every Thursday and Friday Fish which is the best around. Friendly bartenders and plenty of food to choose from. New homemade pizza is excellent!
