I love this place it?s one of the best traditional soul food restaurants still stand and they have never disappointed my taste buds.. The fish and grottos they serve on weekends are a must try! You have soul!

I had been craving boiled fish and grits so I decided to stop here this past Saturday! I walked in and no one was at the counter so I used that time to check out the menu because I had never been there before! After about 5mins the cashier came from the restroom and gave me an irritated look but I didn't let it bother me! I placed my order and sat down to wait for over 30mins for my food! While waiting I looked around the restaurant at the tables that had dirty dishes sitting on the table for way too long after the patrons left and it was slow! The cashier finally called me up asking if I wanted toast because the Johnnycake's were not ready! If she knew they weren't ready she should have given me the heads-up before handing me my meal that was supposed to include the bread! Anyway, I got home and discovered the lid wasn't closed well to the metal container they gave me so fish juice was all in the bag! Let's talk about the taste, it was sooo salty! I spent $22 for something I couldn't eat because I have hypertension! I will not return here again!

The service is not ideal! When you call on the phone they put you on hold forget they have you on the phone and then they hangs up... and when you calls back, line is busy. It is even worse when you go inside the restaurant. You will stand at the counter awaiting to be just ask how are you? What can I get for you?. Those initial moments doesn 't come until you say something to them. The food is okay.. however, if a person thinks like me if the customer service is horrible,the food might be too! I would not recommend this place. It is deeply sad that you try to support your own but the mere fact why many don 't support their own simply because of these poor work ethics and customer service!!!!!!!

I have passed by this place plenty of times but never had eaten here. Well I tried it for the first time and I must say I was not displeased. It is a soul food restaurant mixed some island dishes. The lady who rang us up and served the food was very nice and attentive. I ordered the grilled conch which was well seasoned. They didn't have too many sides the day I visited, but the rice and peas, mac and cheese, and string beans were good. The flop (lemonade and ice tea) was good as well. I would visit again.

Many low ratings here are very accurate. The comments are right on point. The service is really bad. Pandemic is no excuse. Overpriced. I was told there was no grits and saw it was serve to another customer. The workers was eating in front of the customer. After receiving the food, NOT IMPRESS!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY. BETTER PLACES ELSEWHERE!!!!
