Meinels Bas - Hof

Ethnic restaurant where the the locals go to. As starter I had a Salmon-Horseradish-Soup what was absolutely brilliant. Never had such a good salmon soup. Main dish was “Schaeuferle” what is a pork knuckle with Sauerkraut and potatoes. Again very good. Really big portion. Price absolutely unbeatable. Friendly and attentive staff.

We came here with some colleagues from work after training. The terrace was a great surprise. I had been inside the restaurant and it’s a typical old Bavarian style. Very nice place with great food and beer, typical German restaurant from Bavaria. All the food that we had was great. The prices are very good for what you eat and drink.

You will search for staff just to ask if they work. You will find... 2 drunk persons with disgustingly dirty nails and hands. No English or any other language except German. Just a hole...

We would like to have eaten there on Sunday at 13:00 o'clock, but my slipping out in schleiz ensured that I didn't drink here, the typical Franconian dish got more of the pork, which was unfortunately already the day. but a small bee and large spezi, with red herb and a nebula. that is already a rustic place, and also really recommended. good if it were local people, as tourist in hof I would never have found that locally. I always remember Meinels-Bas when I shop here in the slaughterhouse. some have even heard the word frightened. 5 stars only if I had been drunk, but in the sunshine we sat in the beer garden, just beautiful.

This Beer garden has excellent atmosphere, the food is served hot and in big portions, very tasty, the beer is good but could be colder. The staff are very energetic and would definitively visit again!
