Our experience with Olivia's was perfect! We hosted my girlfriend's birthday dinner here and it couldn't have gone better. The coordinator I worked with to set up the event was clear and always quick to respond. They accommodated every request I had (included live music coming in early and special menu designs) and did so very easily. The event itself was wonderful. The food was delicious as always and the service co... View all feedback.
What VK doesn't like about Olivia's:
Not such a good experience. We are vegetarian and we ordered cheese board and Mediterranean spread. We felt the cheese board wasn't special it had only normal cheeses that we found in a grocery store. The combination lacked sour it came with Honey and fig streak, toasts and three cheeses. The Mediterranean spread wasn't authentic, portions were small and tasted contemporary.Service was also very slow. Okay it is settled Hoboken has a new favorite! Olivia?s stuffed zucchini flowers are out of this world. If you don?t order them, I swear you?re making a big mistake! They?re so light and airy and a perfect app for a big meal. We ended up getting thepork chop and pesto gnocchi (a special at the time) and loved every bite. Although this restaurant is a little bit moreexpensive than the typical Hoboken restaurant, I think it is worth it. There is clearly a lot of time and thought given for eachdish. Note: the cocktails are perfectly strong. Really well made drinks!
Chef restaurant. Fine dine. Nice and tasty plates. Prompt and friendly service. Elegant atmosphere. Live music. The only thing about the food; they should develop a character; they are all generic. More acidity maybe.
Went for brunch for the first time, and thought everything was great. The brunch menu has a lot of interesting and tasty options, not just your standard brunch fair. We ordered the burger, chicken biscuits, and short rib arepa, which were all great. Especially the burger. We had my 2 year old daughter there too who loved the French toast. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Definitely planning to go back for brunch again.
Olivia’s is the perfect spot to bring out of townies. I had a group of girlfriends coming in and I always thought it looked so cute from the outside so I decided to call and try to get one of the window seat tables. The hostess who took my reservation was very clear that they couldn’t promise that table but would try their best and she was so sweet and they were able to make it work when we got there. The waitress was kind, timely and had everything come out smoothly. The food/drinks were amazing and all of my friends were so eager to make each other taste how good their own plate/drink was. The atmosphere was perfect for my group and they had a great live band and I loved their playlist. Our only complaint was that music was way too loud and we were screaming to hear each other and our throats were sore when we walked out lol. I rarely ever write reviews but I had to for how much my friends loved it!
Disappointing experience during the dinner rush. The drinks were lackluster and without a depth of flavor. The food was okay, but wasn't anything special despite paying a premium for it.Service was good, but atmosphere was bad super loud without any sound dampening which made it so loud I couldn't hear my friends across the table from me and it was so dark you couldn't even see the food you were eating. Not a place I would go back to during a dinner rush. I might give it a chance for brunch, however.
