What Abdiel Stoltenberg doesn't like about Vietnamese Kitchen:
Touch and go here, but I have always had a good experience and been happy with the service and food. The place has not changed for years, and that is not a bad thing in keeping the hipsters at bay.generally I have found the food to be fresh and tasty and fast and the serving generous and you can get a beer or vino.great takeaway too if in a hurry. Cheap eat!. Inexpensive, fairly good portions, but no ambiance and not overly friendly staff; If you can put up with the latter two then Vietnamese Kitchen is great value as it’s cheaper prices than most of the restaurants in the Salamanca area As it was a cooler day and a nice hot soup was what we were craving, my partner and I entered Vietnamese Kitchen and started looking over the menu. Asked a couple of times by a female behind the counter we said we just need a bit more time to which she didn’t say a thing and just disappeared. Not very welcoming and I felt like she didn’t care if we were there at all Deciding to stay, my partner ordered the Prawn Laksa and I had...read more
After many days of scallop cake and fish chips we were thrilled to have Vietnamese food. I am not sure what it is about tasmania that makes food so expensive with standard, so under the average. limited products? small competitions? the climate this Vietnamese cuisine is located in the corner of salamanca. popular items are displayed on the main board so customers can easily decide. we ordered chicken pho, special vermicelli salat, straw pastries and grilled bun with rice the pho tasted like the instant type they can find in the Asian super market. who cooks chicken breast, cuts it thick, adds to meat broth and calls it pho? terrible. not to mention the coriander as a side...read more
Unfortunately, after one of the few places still eat in this counter served. platz is strange, with contradictory menus everywhere and sweets next to the cash. the food was terrible, not edible for the common nutritionist, and the service was a catastrophe with money for water. I guess in such a great situation is what they get.
Poor service, lower than average eating. had prawn laksa, which tasted like bad cocos milk with some turmic traces. noodles were stiff as they were just added from the package and it was warm. be very cautious about payments as they calculate more than displayed. we had a reception and nice dame happy charged after a nice chat gave her back would not recomend!
Overall disappointing experience. below average Vietnamese food (although open Vietnamese food in tassie is in the usually quite shocking) at a price that reflects its original location on salamanca place. good if it desperately vietnamese (not many around,) but I would not go out of my way to pay this restaurant a visit.
