Wanting to try something new with friends, we decided to try The Tickled Rib. The menu had plenty of selection including the drinks. I decided to have the pulled pork burger. The meat was so tender and juicy, the slaw was spot on with flavour and came with a generous serving of chips. The prices were affordable and the setting is well spaced, not too cramped. Definitely a good place to take mates. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Tickled Rib:
Ribs were pretty tasty and so was the beef brisket but unfortunately nothing exceptional. I used to live in Tennessee and can confirm that this place isn't quite in that league yet. Also think that AUD78 for the platter for two was fairly expensive for the amount of food provided. Corn bread far too sweet.....but I went for the meat so no big deal. Overall, OK. I am really sorry but i have to be honest here.Friendly people in this restaurant but not a decent food. First of all, it was a smoke house but there was no trace of smoke in any meat. Also for 9$ we got 1.5 slice of briskets with really undercooked fat. The steak sandwich was in fact a beetroot sandwich with a thin and firm piece of meat inside for 19$.so overpriced!Even in Sydney, which is the most overpriced place in Australia, you can get much better value by 19$.Maybe that day wasn't their best day but I got really disappointed.
Whether it's tender tasty meats, delicious salads, crunchy nachos or shoestring fries with the best aoli you'd ever eat; this is the place for dinner or takeaway in Hobart. Local wines to wash it down too. You could meander across to The Shambles afterwards for a microbrewed ale or a few doors down for gelato afterwards. Fine inside or outside (undercover available). We absolutely loved the flavours of everything on offer and ate until we could eat no more!! Oh and the corn bread!!! Oh my goodness the corn bread....!

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic selection of food at this casual cafe-style eatery. Even picky eaters will find something they love, especially if they are carnivores. This place is great for families, with a range of options that appeal to all ages. The BBQ style is more mid-western with a dry rub and smoky flavor, a nice change from the typical tex-mex heat. We tried the mini boss platter, which included a variety of BBQ smoked meats, chicken ribs, cornbread, slaw, and delicious potato salad. The buttermilk chicken was also amazing - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sides of Mac&cheese croquettes and fries were huge and tasty. We washed it all down with authentic root beer floats. Overall, a thumbs up for the delicious food that was enough for three people and even a doggy bag.
The place to go if you want a meaty meal. Pulled meats, slow braised, nachos, burgers, hotdogs. We ordered a selection of the sides as a starter for the four of us. A good way to try different foods. However everything came at one - our mains and our pre meal nibbles. We requested affogatos later but "the machine was broken" so they could not do them. A reasonably average experience in all.
