Okay, so my partner and I came here for a cheap meal utilising the Monday/Tuesday $10 special. Upon arrival we were seated at a high window table which had a menu for us to choose our $10 special. I decided on a Hawaiian parmigiana and my partner chose a chicken schnitzel with gravy. I ordered a moscato which was very reasonably priced. This pub in Australia is the best! They don't have TAB, Keno, or pokies, but they offer friendly and fast service. They have a wide variety of meals and blackboard specials, and you can even book seating in advance. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible. It's a very family-friendly pub that welcomes everyone. A must-visit in New Town Hobart, Justin and his wife Ester make a fantastic team.
How lucky the Tasmanians are, to have pub like the Maypole, not only does this pub have yummy cheap meals, the guy behind the Bar, knows just a little about Football, was lovely having a conversation about the game, step aside Eddie!

It's a great little pub with a good vibe, nice people and good food and drink. The larger than life owner is great value even if he loves hitting auto-repeat on his tried and trusted jokes!!
