What Jenny K likes about Sawak Cafe:
Tasty food, excellent service, plus vegan options! Also has an enjoyably busy but not frantic atmosphere and you wont wait ages for your food as you do in so many restaurants. Staff are always lovely and friendly. View all feedback. What Nancy G doesn't like about Sawak Cafe:
Located in shopping area, with affordable prices. Quick service. Could use a little more time in raising the customer experience by having table service. Good value. View all feedback.

read moreSawak is a bustling Malaysian restaurant located in a shopping area, offering affordable prices and quick service. While some reviewers found the food to be hit or miss, with standout dishes like the roti impressing while others fell short of expectations, overall the restaurant offers good value for money. Traditional Malaysian options are recommended to fully appreciate the flavors. The service was noted to be friendly and efficient, with some patrons enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and BYO policy. The menu offers a variety of dishes, with options for vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant has received praise for its delicious food, with particular highlights being the dumplings and various curry dishes. Sawak has established itself as a go-to spot for authentic Malaysian cuisine, with some customers even returning for takeaway the next night. Despite some mixed reviews, the restaurant continues to attract a loyal following, with customers appreciating the flavors and friendly service.
Fantastic food. We had the laksa and the beef rendang and both were delicious. A great place to eat in the cbd and the service was outstanding.
One of the friendliest and one of the very few halal restaurants in Hobart. Best food I tried. The portion was more than enough for the price.
