Was Édouard Carre at Hejos a mag?
Unlike most reviewers of Hejo we did not visit the premises in Elizabeth St Hobart, but rather experienced its menu at Tasmania's Dark Mofo Winter Feast.Hejo was one of many stands that night providing food for the many patrons. I chose Hejo rather than any of the other food stalls because of the menu it presented on the night. My decision was not disappointing. Essentially a Sichuan chicken wrap with salads etc. It... The restaurant moved one block up from its original location which means not that many people visit it during lunch time, and when we went there it was empty, which meant that we received our order very quickly which was great and of course the waitress was very attentive. The food was great value and delicious. Between us we had the prawn dumplings, pork wontons, vegetarian rolls, and chicken/pork wonton soup. Plus $8 for corkage. Total was around $60.

These guys were at the Taste of Tasmania! The guy at the counter was rude inflexible and the food was awful! It amazes me that these types of businesses still operate when there are so many good quality businesses in Hobart now! Do they actually understand the power of response??

When this restaurant was down the street closer to the mall we really enjoyed it, it was very good value, tasty and fresh Chinese food. We had not visited in a while so decided it was worth a return. It was almost full on a Wednesday, which we took as a good sign. This was a mistake.Unlike others the waitress was fine, she took our orders and service was solid through out the meal. The meal though was very ordinary. Though not expensive it is not cheap. Most dishes start at 19$ and go up. Seafood the most expensive. As a party of 5 we shared several mains. The fried rice was a strange grey colour that detracted from the eating. The soy honey chicken was acceptable but had very little taste of honey. The 5 spice pork in pottery was simply bland, way way over cooked. Pepper fried beef was the best of a very average meal. The duck with sweet sour pineapple sauce was horrid. It looked like and tasted like the chef had dropped all of a bottle of tomato sauce into it with a dash of vinegar. Very ordinary. To top it off the beer was warm.Sadly will not be returning unless we here that get their act together.

My vegetarian children and I thought on this beautiful Chinese restaurant was a quick dinner. we ordered spring rolls, fried flat noodles, mapo tofu and clear rice. the spring rolls were super crisp and the fillings were very tasteful. the noodles (without the sauce)...had little taste, but with the sauce it tasted heavenly! the tofu was authentic and very sharp as in china!) and the rice was really good, especially with the spicy sauce from the tofu! very authentic, fresh and tasty! would highly recommend if you request authentic Chinese food!
