What Kimberly Bashirian doesn't like about Har Wee Yee:
Driving past and decided to grab a take away. My husband had the combination chow mein said it was fine. I noticed when he had finished there was an awful lot of liquid in the bottom of the container? I opted for sweet and sour...battered chicken. Chicken by itself was lovely but then I spoiled it and poured the sauce over. Unfortunately, the meal was then very soggy and I did not finish it. Waited awhile before I wa... View all feedback.
Someone told me they were eating here. I would give it 10/10 because I laugh. I don't even know what the devil was, but no, please stop.
Eating is okay, I always liked it. very expensive for what it is though. service has always been good.
The worst in tasmania?. most likely the worst Asian restaurant in tasmania. expect to go into an almost empty restaurant and are welcomed by a menu with spirit boggling prices, on par with me now also with these trips, not disturbing to compare this place with me wah, or even with duc’s take away for this occasion. eating here has a fairly cheap, dated feeling, and its fat and unlawful terrible nature is similar to what it would expect for $7-12 in a food dish. you were warned!
After reading the original review of this restaurant I was a bit tangible to eat here. However, when I was in a hot spot on Sunday night and was not as a native, I did not know where else I should fulfill my hankering for Chinese food. I was hesitant after I had pinched the place and only saw the staff sitting on the tables, but I was wrong yes, the decor is sticky, but I think it's fitting. who has been in asia will know that the esswaren are not hidden with antique furniture, but bright laternen and naughty her menu offers a good choice of entreen (including suppening,) meat veggie dishes, reisnudel option, as well as some...read more
Oh my.... Har Wee Yee, once known as one of the best places to get some Chinese into you, has certainly fallen from grace. Their tacky 1970s Australian Chinese food is gluggy, grisly and generally awful My family and I visited here after many many years of it being out of our minds. It has changed ownership a few times and is definitely not worth any amount of money. Do yourself a favour and head further into Hobart city for a more authentic Chinese meal than stopping here Needs a full makeover, complete with a new chef!
