We have enjoyed eating here a number of times and the quality of the dishes are excellent.
The best feature of Charcoal is that it is more often than not lacking in numbers of patrons. Most definitely does not acquaint to lack of professional service or skimping on produce.

Excellent food in a relaxed environment, with attentive and friendly service. We'll probably go back when we get back to Hobart.
This restaurant had a menu with lots of variety and was moderate. The waiting staff was attentive and came to check us out often, but at the same time gave us the space we needed to enjoy our meal.
Good food. The salmon was better than the file (more cooked than asked). But, I recommend.. the place is nice with excellent service.
Attached to the RACV/RACT Hobart Apartment Hotel, it is a nice enough restaurant aesthetically, with friendly and attentive staff. The wine menu is excellent and features many Tasmanian wines with by the bottle and by the glass. The food was superb and reasonably priced. If staying, or visiting for breakfast, I recommend the Omelette. Just ask the staff to order.
