Nice restaurant by the shores of Cornelian Bay. We found the seafood chowder, pan fried Atlantic salmon n squid to be delicious but the plate of fish n chips too dry n oily. Obviously a popular eatery with almost all tables occupied in the evening. Service is good but food prices are on the high side. Relaxing view from the windows watching another long Summer's day ending.
Delicious meal, meat and seafood cooked perfectly. Great service and specifically the new waitress Destiny.
Took my daughter for lunch. Fat chips and fish, so yummy ! Gnocchi mushroom very delicious too. Service is excellent.

May 2022: The Cornelian Bay Restaurant maintains its four-star rating. We visited a few nights ago, and while the service was friendly, it felt inconsistent, with a different staff member attending our table each time and limited communication between them. The décor seems to be stuck in the early 2000s—it's not retro enough to be trendy again. Each person was served a slice of French baguette, but unfortunately, it was served cold, as though it had just come out of the fridge. The dip intended to be olive oil and balsamic vinegar turned out to be honey, possibly mixed with vinegar or molasses—I’m still unsure about that. On the positive side, the oysters (both natural and Kilpatrick) were delightful, and the seafood chowder was substantial, albeit filled with a supermarket-quality seafood mix. I would have preferred less seafood of higher quality, along with more of the delicious chowder broth. The Turkish delight parfait was enjoyable; however, I expected more flavors infused with Turkish delight rather than just chewy pieces hidden within. Overall, while the meal was tasty, it didn’t quite reach fine dining standards; it felt more like an upscale bistro. **May 2021:** I’ve always wanted to try the Boat House and finally had the chance. The location is stunning, with beautiful views of the bay and the Tasman Bridge. However, the venue itself feels dated, sporting designs reminiscent of the late 90s to early 2000s. Give it another twenty years, and it might be cool as ‘retro.’ The prices for meals were on the higher side for the portions served, but drinks were reasonably priced. The seafood taster was nice, but the grilled salmon promised was virtually nonexistent—a piece smaller than a postage stamp hid beneath a small salad. The chowder was plentiful with seafood, while the calamari was typical pub-style, fried, and hand-cut. Although the seafood pasta was delicious, the pasta shells were clumped together and undercooked. It would have been better to use fettuccine or linguine. One final issue occurred when we ordered bread for the table; one serving was missing. When we inquired about it with a staff member, we felt we were being interrogated and almost accused of lying. They were overly defensive, as if an $1.80 serving of bread was a serious matter. Eventually, we did receive it but felt unjustly treated. We’re willing to give the Boat House another shot, hoping for a significantly improved experience.
