Beach House - Hobart

Stopped in today for a coffee with the eldest faughter. Coffee for me which was reasonable but nothing extraordinary. We shared a garlic bread, which was just oil soaked bread with pieces of garlic, however the garlic flavor did not penetrate the bread. Luckily it was a very nice bread.

We use to frequent this establishment before the new owner took over. The food isn't fresh, everything needs to be warmed in the microwave so it's edible. The staff aren't friendly and changes all the time. Today a group had coffee and teas. They arrived spasmodically and to put salt into the wounds, a cup was returned as it had chips in it and wasn't clean. The owner seemed annoyed that this was mentioned and she replaced the cup but returned the chip cup to the top of the pile being used at the coffee machine. This cup should have been thrown out. It was unhygienic. We won't be entering the premises again as the unfriendliness of the employees leaves much to be desired.

Grotty establishment that served microwaved quiche until it was steaming and rubbery and scalding hot coffee that was so weak it was just dreadfulwhen we complained, we were told it was how they made it - if we wanted it remade with another shot, it would be extra

A pleasant location on nutgrove beach which does simple, fresh food at reasonable prices. Good access for those not very mobile. Nice sitting areas outside

I went to this "cafe" the other day with my partner, I ordered an ice coffee and my partner a chocolate milkshake. We ordered to take away, when we asked what sizes they came in they only had a large coffee cup. Usually iced coffees are served in take away dome cups and milkshakes in a larger takeaway cup. Not only were the staff rude but the drinks where horrible. The milk shake was just that milk! You couldn't taste any chocolate syrup at all, and it was served in a takeaway coffee cup with no lid for $6.00. Most expensive milkshake I have ever paid for and it was terrible. The iced coffee was served in the same cup with no ice cream and the smallest bit of whipped cream, it would have been as big as a 20 cent piece. I would never recommend this place as a cafe they have absolutely no idea what they are doing, extremely disappointed.
