before I moved to hobart, everyone told us again and again how great eating was in the Asian gourmet at the pier, so far it was nice, but not quite to the hype. Today we have an dinner here, they did great Chinese dishes. love here, will come back definitiw! View all feedback.
What Lera Harber doesn't like about Asian Gourmet On The Pier Mǎn Táng Hǎi Xiān:
Very slow took over 30+ minutes for any food to start coming out. Food was bland and flavourless. Wrapping on the dumplings were undercooked and tasted dry in the mouth. For the price they charge definitely would not recommend going here. Save your money and find another place. View all feedback.

Great food. seafood is the best. Their rice has a good buttery taste. The chicken and beef! Always juicy! I get why they kind of wait for you to get there before really making your food, but sometimes I would order late Night dinner while working and would still have to wait. Recommend!
We love this place. Pick up service is fast and highquality. Delivery can be a little slow but is worth it! Consistent flavor, freshness, portion sizes and the nice staff get my order right every time. Shrimp well cooked and the veggies was green enough. Best spot for local Chinese!
This Asian restaurant is in a wonderful location right on the Pier at Hobart Wharf. We were greeted by a friendly and very efficient young man. The decor is really lovely. You can get 25% off if you have an Entertainment Card. There are two special banquet options $19.90 per person or $39.90. The options are the same. Entree: vegetable spring roll or chicken and sweet corn soup. Mains were pork, chicken and cashews, Mongolian lamb, or sizzling beef. Rice is steamed or fried. For 19.90 each person chooses one of each. For 39.90 each person gets both entrees, two mains and both rices. We chose the 19.90 option which was enough food for both of us. The food was ok. I wasn't fussed with sweet Mongolian lamb. If you order from the normal menu, mains are around $32 each which I think is a bit steep. However, the pork was not available. They also had no chicken skewers, or orange juice. Would I return? Probably not.
