Feedback
Was Jennifer Geminn at St. Eve's a mag?
We have eaten at St. Eve’s before, and we are never disappointed! On this occasion, we enjoyed a special appetizer of mission figs with goat cheese wrapped in bacon (yum! and had entrees of salmon and pork chop. The salmon was served with mango/avocado chutney, asparagus, and fingerling potatoes; the chop was served with delicious sweet potatoes and a maple/apple glaze. Service was amazing, too. What EveB dislikes about St. Eve's:
St. Eves is a cozy, lovely place with delicious, high quality, reliable food. It IS expensive though. I wish the menu was longer with more choices , especially in appetizers. View all feedback.
Haven't dined here in almost ten years and it's still darned good. Compact menu, but enough variety for everyone. Comfortable seating and a bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night. Service overall is good, and the food is deliciously prepared. The short rib special was a delight for one of our party. One service problem that couldn't be dealt with there.......ordered a swordfish special and asked if there was any crab base to it (the main menu swordfish is done with a crab base). Server assured me TWICE there was no crab anything (have an allergy). Meal was great but a bit later, the allergy hit. Not sure if it was the server or the kitchen, but with allergies worse than mine, this could be dangerous.
Great tasting dinner and good service. A surprise find on our trip to visit our old home town. The perfect spot for dinner when in the Ho-Ho-Kus area. A perfect combination of a BYOB restaurant conveniently located next to a nice wine shop adding to the overall value. Extra off street parking right out back.
