My absolute favourite place to brunch in Hitchin. We've been so many times I've lost count. From the harissa mushrooms to the grilled cheese, you can't go wrong. The coffee is excellent and the staff are super friendly. View all feedback.

We stopped by Groundwork’s for breakfast this morning and were impressed by the menu and ingredient descriptions. However, we were disappointed when our meals arrived. I frequently go to Groundworks for coffee, brunch, and lunch, and I can confidently say that it is the best place in Hitchin for brunch! The hash brown bites are unbeatable and definitely worth trying, along with the delicious eggs benedict and fluffy scrambled eggs.
Very nice lunch sat in the sun. First visit. Good staff, giving good friendly, efficient service. We all enjoyed our meals. My smashed avocado was delicious. I'll be back for that whenever I'm in the area. We'll worth a visit, especially on a sunny day with an outside taste.
Stopped here one sunny morning last week for a coffee and to plan our day. What a lovely place to sit out, right near the church and away from the main busy street. You know when coffee is good it needs no milk and definitely no sugar. Lovely!
This super friendly super busy cafe is easily the best place to have breakfast in Hitchin. It shows other places just how good a vegetarian breakfast can be when so much thought is given to each item. Everything the cafe does has been looked at to make it as good and unique as it can be. This recommendation is given without reservation…
We stopped by Groundwork’s for breakfast this morning and were impressed by the menu and ingredient descriptions. However, we were disappointed when our meals arrived. My 3 eggs scrambled with thick cut black pudding was not as described – the eggs seemed fewer and the black pudding was not as thick as expected. My husband's smashed avocado also seemed smaller than expected, with just half an avocado and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, for a cost of £13.50 including a poached egg. The food was hot and tasty, but the pricing should be reviewed. We wanted to pay in cash but were informed they only accept card payment, which was stated on a small sign on the door.
