We had a wonderful time at one of the children's playgrounds in Hilo! Popovers are a family favorite for us, so we were delighted to discover this hidden gem. The staff was super friendly, and we ordered an early popover filled with eggs, Portuguese sausage, potatoes, and vegetables that was incredibly tasty. We will definitely be back. Keep up the great work with the popovers! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Popover:
Coffee selections were varied. The rest in m6 party drank iced or regular coffee. I ordered an iced black tea which was brewing, so not ready for me. We ate the popover by itself. It was delicious by itself, but we noticed other diners eating the popover sandwich which is filled with a variety of items. Looked very appetizing. The pastries were also delicious. I ate the chocolate puff and tasted the Ube glazed donut.... View all feedback.
Wow! nice that my braut asked for coffee and donuts today! the butter beer crunch and french toast were my favorites. my dame said that the coffee is so good or better than a mermaid brand that she usually visits! If you are looking for donuts, I can testify that popover is not disappointed!
read moreI ordered a donut, and a bear claw. Their donuts have a texture more like bread or a bagel than either a good cake donut, and are nowhere near light and airy enough to be a good yeast donut. It was…well, not good. And have you ever had a bear claw with raisins in it? Me neither. That was an unpleasant surprise- I love almond filling, which this bear claw was short on, and hate raisins in baked goods, which it was loaded with. Ugh. Worse bear claw ever.I’ve had a “chunky chip” cookie from them, too. The absence of the word “chocolate “ in the name should have told me something; it was brown and a little chocolatey, but with a texture that was kind of dry, grainy and cake-like. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t get one again. There’s not many wonderful choices for fresh baked goods in East Hawaii, and those there are, are pretty expensive. Next time I get a craving though for something fresh from a bakery, I’ll go somewhere else and save myself the calories for something more worthwhile.

read moreSuch a cute little pastry shop! Beautiful presentation! Flavor of donuts are delicious! Bacon maple and guava pastry were my favorite! So glad I found this place! It's a must try!
My husband and stumbled into the bakery on our trip and we absolutely loved it! The pastries were sooo good and the sandwich was amazing. We’re already planning on coming back in our time on the island.
