Great place to grab a bite of South indian dish. I wish they add a little salt to their masala in the dosa. Adding some curry leaves and pepper would make the veg bonda taste even better. View all feedback.
My husband and I were visiting Portland from Seattle and decided to have dinner here with a friend. We ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa, Veg Dum Biryani, and Chicken Chettinad Curry. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was tasty; however, the service was a little slow. We requested filter coffee, but unfortunately, their machine was broken, so they only had chai available. The prices were also quite reasonable.
This is a fantastic spot for enjoying South Indian cuisine. However, I would recommend that they add a bit more salt to the masala in the dosa. Additionally, incorporating some curry leaves and pepper would enhance the flavor of the vegetable bonda even further.
I’m updating this review after our third visit. We went on a Thursday to enjoy the dosas for $5 (promotional offer). Unfortunately, the sambhar was quite bland, and the dosa filling lacked salt, making it hard to enjoy the dish. We also ordered the Chettinad pepper chicken, which was okay but had a bit too much pepper. I’m deducting one star, but I still have fond memories of the delicious food from our first two visits.
This is one of the most AMAZING Indian restaurants I have ever visited. The food was absolutely delicious. From the warm hospitality and welcoming ambiance to the exquisite dishes and the brief lesson we requested on culturally appropriate dining, everything was perfect. I will definitely recommend it repeatedly and look forward to returning again and again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The food quality is outstanding, particularly the biryani. The service is very polite and friendly.
