We enjoyed our stay even though we probably had the worst room in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and we were greeted with a welcome drink at the desk. It is in walking distance to all of the downtown places. They even had a bluegrass band on the porch Sunday afternoon. The hotel restaurant looks very quaint and quirky with pleasant music playing all around. It seemed to be fairly busy but we did not have an o... View all feedback.
What Sean Knox doesn't like about Main Street Inn:
I attempted to book a room here but wasn’t able to unfortunately due to a policy they against having children under the age of 4 to stay there. So my wife, my 16 month old son and I couldn’t book there. So to any families with children under 4 this isn’t the place for yall! Sucks because we've always wanted to stay here. A serene slice of heaven in the heart of Highlands! The Bunkhouse room offers a summer camp vibe with luxury amenities. The Tavern's food and service are spectacular. We enjoyed a cozy two-top in the back, sinking into winged chairs, lulled by harmonica and 12-string guitar. Pleasant stay. Highly recommend.
Wow, new favorite food spot in Highlands. The Ruffed Grouse Tavern was delicious and also had the best and most fun to talk to waiters in town. We went for brunch at the tavern which was perfect! Definitely recommend the chocolate chip pancakes and avocado toast. Also beautiful scenery and right by Main Street. This place is a must visit while in Highlands.
When my boyfriend and I arrived we were excited to stay at here because we had been here multiple times before for lunch and had enjoyed the food and atmospheric dining setting. Upon arriving, we were indifferently greeted by a mumbling staff member and were led to the bunkhouse. Multiple bags of trash littered the front of the building which gave me a bad feeling and displayed a lack of care for the place. Our room was extremely cramped and ill equipped to accommodate two adults comfortably. I feel like the website could have communicated the size of the room because the picture provided is misleading. In the shower, some of the toiletries provided were empty. At night the room got uncomfortably hot. The only remedy for this was the AC unit mounted on the wall that was difficult to operate. The unit would loudly blast cold air at random intervals making it difficult to sleep. It was not until the next morning that we realized the filter had not been replaced before we arrived. Even without the loud ac unit it was impossible to sleep. The walls were incredibly thin and we could hear everything in the bunkhouse above and next to us. Definitely not worth the $180. The plus side to this place is the Main Street location and the charming dining area. This place has a lot of potential if proper care and pride is taken in the management.
Had lunch at this delightful restaurant on the patio. The food was excellent and the service outstanding! Would definitely recommend the restaurant to others!
Beautiful place to sit and have a drink with friends.
