Hotel restaurants do not always do well as ‘restaurants’ they are an adjunct to the main event. The more remote hotels can be hit or miss but the Park restaurant at the Loch Ness Country House Hotel is definitely in the former category: a hotel that runs a very good restaurant. The menu is fairly limited but the quality and presentation of the food is first class. The vegetarian option tends to be risotto and dessert... View all feedback.
What Svea Poulsen (Sveava) doesn't like about In The Park:
I was treated to lunch by colleagues. My starter was lovely, but the main course was such a disappointment. First of all it was lukewarm and had to be reheated. Then I tasted the potato far too salty. Next up were the beautifully presented peas so salty that I actually gagged. And this is from someone who likes salt far too much! I was only really able to eat the meat, which was not the best quality I have ever had.... View all feedback.
My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant on our way back to Inverness from Ft Augustus. The setting at Loch Ness Country Hotel is stunning and peaceful. We were seated in the lounge with a drink and a menu before being led to the dining room. We started with a delicious risotto followed by a trout dish served with bok choy in a lime sauce. Both dishes were expertly presented and cooked. The dining room was cozy and elegantly decorated in soft grey and brown tones, offering a beautiful view of the grounds.
The breakfast included with our one-night stay was excellent. The only thing I would have liked is if they had some music playing, as it was very quiet and I could hear myself eating.
My husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. We were amazed by the excellent service provided by the staff. Our meals were beautifully presented and delicious. We were expecting high prices but were pleasantly surprised to find them comparable to a bar meal, but of much better quality. This place is truly a hidden gem. We will definitely be returning.
The most amazing lunch today served by the professional and passionate Johnathan and cooked by fabulous Chef Chris!
Had a Christmas party here and heard a lot of great things.I thought they were really understaffed so I won 't blame the waiting staff, but the way the food came out seemed ridiculous. My wife sat beside me and didn 't get her main course until I had finished my chicken... her main being the vegetarian option which was the seafood risotto available as a starter to our party... without the seafood!!!The starter was supposed to be parsnip and apple but was actually celeriac soup with a curdling lump of creme fraiche floating in it.Dessert on the other hand was different. A huge cheeseboard bigger than the starter and main course put together. Not impressed at all to be honest.Seemed to have CO2 issues with the soft drinks too.
