Cafe was brilliant last time we visited. Very limited choice, breakfast rolls were advertised but the only choice was sausage….no bacon, no egg. Wouldn’t recommend at the moment. View all feedback.
My wife and I visited the caffe yesterday and were not particularly impressed. there were no menus and there were no prizes on the display. we were shocked when we ordered two toasties and two doses soft drink and the bill came to £17. maybe. I'm out of touch, but that seemed ridiculous. we looked at the reception and it wasn't even article that seemed very strange only said total £17.00
Previous was the discoverer and had the most fabulous breakfast as soon as mountain cafe closed this place was best visited in aviemore. today to find them only breakfast rolls. £4.50 for a roll with 2 sausages (in the half cut) no wonder, a normally packed...out caffe was dead quiet. could not complain about the coffee.
Very nice in the upper floor from an outdoor shop. pie was very tasty and personal friendly and helpful. we had arrived 3.30 clock from glasgow and most other caffes closed or closed. it remains open until 5 o'clock so practical to know.

What has happened to this formerly excellent Cafe?. While on holiday at Grantown on Spey, we took the bus to Aviemore, looking forward to a nice lunch at The Explorer cafe in Tiso's. On arrival I asked for a menu and the girl said, all...the food we have is in the refrigerated display. A small selection of made up toasties, wraps, small pies and sausage rolls. Unlike the excellent menu They used to do. I had the pulled pork toasty and my wife had a piece of quiche. The toasty came with veg crisps and some coleslaw the very small piece of quiche came on a small plate with nothing. At nearly £10, very disappointed. Lots of cakes and biscuits on uncovered display right at the front of the counter !! Won't be back unless it changes for the better.
