We called in for a coffee before our cruise on the Loch and found excellent cake to take on the cruise. No baristas for the coffee, just a machine, but the cake more than made up for it. We then called back for lunch and the most amazing Cullen Skink. An absolute must if you eat here! View all feedback.
What OliwaVasicek doesn't like about Cobbs Coffee House:
After concluding our Scotland whisky tour, we chose to have lunch with a view at a restaurant by the northern side of Loch Ness, near Inverness Airport. It was the only available option at the time, but it provided a decent place to spend a couple of hours before our flight. The food was satisfactory, resembling more of a high-quality canteen than a gastropub. Overall, we had a pleasant afternoon at this establishmen... View all feedback.
We booked the restaurant on the reviews and weren't disappointed. The dining room is wonderful and tge view onto the loch stunning. The staff were very polite and engaging even suggesting a beer to try which was great. The food was beautifully presented and extremely tasty (trio of venison was gorgeous) while my wife opted for the cod which she thoroughly enjoyed. My children also enjoyed trying both dishes with my 7 Yr old daughter devouring my venison pie. We are only here for a short trip or we would definitely be booking again, lovely restaurant.

Absolutely horrid. They claim to have Luxury, Handmade cakes....couldn't have been further from the truth! Honestly, cakes with no taste, completely dried out with oversweetened icing. And don't get me started on the cleanliness of the toilets! Broken taps, smells of urine and urine soaked floors...and NO SOAP! This place used to be great, before they moved upstairs, but no longer....won't be going back there again any time soon....AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
We popped in before our boat trip. I had onion back and mango chutney in a toasted nann bread which was delicious. My partner had the salmon and cream cheese brioche which had a cute Nessie imprinted in it. There's a fun model of Nessie nearby to take pictures with and a gift shop downstairs from the cafe.
Starters were fabulous, We had the smoked beef with rocket and Stilton and Scallops which were lovely. Mains were terrible unfortunately. I had battered Haddock which was anaemic in colour and was very soggy under the surface, another minute or so would have made all the difference to get a crisp golden batter. My wife had the Rump Steak which she ordered medium and came rare (very rare, not medium rare but not blue) unable to eat her steak like that we swapped as I can have my steak rare. I would have thought it would melt in the mouth or at least be tender but it was pretty tough so a bit of an epic fail for two mains which are staples and not the most technically challenging to get right. My wife had the Apple and Berry Crumble with Vanilla Custard for desert and that was delicious so managed to salvage the overall impression to average. Tried the dark ness stout which was really nice and the location of the restaurant is second to none especially when staying at the hotel.
