We ordered a key lime cheesecake for a birthday, and it was terrible. The cheesecake was excessively tart and inedible, as it seemed to lack any sugar. The texture resembled that of a mousse and it had broken apart, similar to whipped cream that has been over-whipped. It was truly awful.

We drove an hour from Virginia to check it out with a group of nine... read more We were really looking forward to visiting Uncle Cheesecake after seeing it featured on PBS. We drove an hour from Virginia to check it out with a group of nine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found the place to be unclean and the dessert selection disappointingly limited—not what we'd expected for a Saturday evening at 6 PM. The young woman on staff was also quite rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. When we inquired about the cheesecakes, she huffed and told us it would be an hour wait. She didn’t make any eye contact and started handling cupcakes with her bare hands without any handwashing, even after handling cash. We were extremely disappointed; our drive felt wasted, and we were met with poor service and no chance to try anything. We genuinely wanted to support a local, Black-owned business, but the experience was far from acceptable.
