Description

Uncle Cheesecake is a small, family-run bakery known for light, beautifully presented cheesecakes in inventive flavors like s’mores, pumpkin-chocolate-chip and strawberry, with gluten-free options and gift-worthy appeal. While many praise its delightful taste and occasional quick service, offerings are uneven: limited selection, small slices for the price, inconsistent hours, and occasional cleanliness or service lapses. Call ahead before visiting — at its best, it delivers some of the most memorable cheesecakes around.

The location might be a bit tricky to find at first, but once you’ve been there, returning will be a breeze—you’ll definitely want to come back! They offer a diverse range of flavors to choose from, and their banana pudding is a must-try among other delightful treats. It’s a locally owned, family-run establishment with ample parking available. If you’re too far from downtown Greensboro, this is the perfect spot to satisfy your sweet cravings.

I was very disappointed! We ordered a key lime cheesecake for a birthday, and it was terrible. The cheesecake was excessively tart and inedible, as it seemed to lack any sugar. The texture resembled that of a mousse and it had broken apart, similar to whipped cream that has been over-whipped. It was truly awful.

If you're a cheesecake lover like I am, then you absolutely must try one from this place—you won't regret it! It's by far the best cheesecake I've ever had. I brought a banana cheesecake to a family cookout where there were several other cakes and desserts, and the banana cheesecake disappeared before everything else!

The strawberry cheesecake is delicious, and the slice size is just right. The service was quick and attentive, and there is a great variety of options to choose from. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!

We were really looking forward to visiting Uncle Cheesecake after seeing it featured on PBS. We drove an hour from Virginia to check it out with a group of nine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found the place to be unclean and the dessert selection disappointingly limited—not what we'd expected for a Saturday evening at 6 PM. The young woman on staff was also quite rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. When we inquired about the cheesecakes, she huffed and told us it would be an hour wait. She didn’t make any eye contact and started handling cupcakes with her bare hands without any handwashing, even after handling cash. We were extremely disappointed; our drive felt wasted, and we were met with poor service and no chance to try anything. We genuinely wanted to support a local, Black-owned business, but the experience was far from acceptable.
