Velvet Cream The Dip - Hernando

So many possibilities, so little space in my belly lol. I had banana cracks, my nabeby had apple cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce and a pizzaburger. We're coming back! Hidden jewel safe! Open since 1947! That speaks for itself!

Very pricey- BUT you do get a good amount of what you ordered and it's really good. There was a man there at the end of the drive thru making sure everyone got everything and he was very kind and got us an extra spoon (they didn't mess up, we had to give a spoon to someone who couldn't use a straw but they gave him one, that was on us for not asking before-hand) Nice to come here with friends

I was looking forward to a fantastic lunch, but I was quite disappointed. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and the meat was more like a low-quality steak that had been pulled apart. The edges of the meat were tough, leading me to think it might have been old, and there was an unpleasant taste to it. I could only manage to take two bites.

I was disappointed to find that they do not offer a military discount. It's really frustrating, especially since my brother is currently serving our country and they wouldn’t give him any recognition with a discount. He’s dedicating his life to protect this nation, and yet there's no appreciation shown here. Because of this, I’ve decided that I will not be returning. Also, the mixed custard could really use more chocolate—overall, it was just mediocre.

The scoop sizes of ice cream are astonishing—I've never seen such generous portions in my life! It was fantastic. My daughter and I make it a point to visit our family in Hernando a few times a year, and we always stop by Velvet Cream for milkshakes, ice cream, or some other treat. This was my sister's first visit, and I think she really enjoyed it. In the summertime, the parking lot fills up with people of all ages—kids, teens, and families all enjoying their ice cream. It's a highly popular spot! Even in winter, locals love to relax on benches or the backs of their trucks, savoring their ice cream or meals. The vibe here is whimsical and distinctly Southern, reminiscent of 50 years ago. I wholeheartedly recommend Velvet Cream and everything they serve; their wedding cake ice cream is particularly fantastic! Next time you're in Hernando, make sure to stop by and check it out—bring the kids and grandma; they'll all love it! Who knows, it might become your new family tradition, just like ours.
