We spent a very pleasant evening in a cozy, warm place where we enjoyed succulent dishes concocted with fresh produce (what can we say about the asparagus straight from the ground), the millefeuille with chestnut cream is a delight!!! !, to this you add impeccable service, charming, welcoming owners and very affordable prices A place that we can only recommend without hesitation Cdl Pierre and Maguy

One of the things we love about France. You can find once in a lifetime kind of meals in the most unexpected places. We are in the small town of Herepian, France, and on a tiny street, off the main road, is a restaurant called L 'Ocre rouge restaurant . It’s run by a husband and wife team, where the husband is the chef. He makes everything. The bread, the ice cream, Evvvvvverything. And all of it is absolutely stunning…like Beverly Hills five star quality stunning. The flavors were amazingly, subtle and perfectly balanced. Each course was served in a timely manner and when we left, each of us felt full to just the right amount. Before Kari F. Bray French fashion, we were served an amuse bushe, (a pre-appetizer) of slightly toasted bread, half with homemade olive tapenade and the other half with homemade pesto. It was topped by local olives. My wife and I each had the two course menu. She opted for Back of cod marinated in combava, escabèche and asparagus risotto her main and Millefeuille of Olargues chestnuts and chestnut ice cream as dessert. While I had Homemade foie gras cooked in salt, fig brioche and poached pear as a starter and Grilled Aveyron lamb, al dente vegetables and mushroom duxelle as my main. The wines are locally sourced and the rosé we choose complemented the meal nicely I know you’re thinking yeah but what did you have to pay for this? Well… the two course menu is just 35!€ per person so for this level of food and service very well priced. We came a bit early, 7:20 with no reservation but were greeted with warmth. Though we offered to come back later she seated us right away. The service was never rushed and at the pace of our choosing. We said our goodbyes about 10:00 with a lovely view of the church to guide us. Magical. Yes, we are going to go back before we leave the area and HIGHLY recommend this hidden gem of a place.
