Attended for lunch. Really enjoyed the burger. Normally something unwound avoid. However, the Yfenni cheese tempted me. Glad it did. Two smaller burgers is better than one bigger one. Daughter enjoyed the pie and masses of vegetables. Will happily return. Dog friendly. View all feedback.
What iainphillips doesn't like about The New Harp Inn:
My wife and I ventured in after a walk by the river and found really disgruntled staff. There was no welcome just a look of disdain from the bar person. We ordered food and a drink as they have the monopoly in the village. 50 minutes later two pie of the day meals were served, both undercooked but one looked as if it had exploded onto the plate and I wouldn't bet against the fact that it had been tampered with! We enjoyed a delightful garden lunch for two at this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was also excellent, with most ingredients sourced locally.
We had a fantastic dining experience at the New Harp Inn. The homemade rabbit pie was delicious, and the vegetarians in our group thoroughly enjoyed their squash tagine. The host and staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcomed and comfortable, even though we had to sit outside in the cold. I highly recommend this restaurant.
It’s a lovely pub, located in Hoarwithy and about 300 meters from the River Wye. So is great to visit if kayaking or canoeing down the River Wye. But you will have to pay a £3.00 landing fee for each craft not the pubs fault). I had a lovely gammon steak, fresh from the local butchers.
This pub is very OPEN despite the red message on tripadvisor that it is temporarily closed. Friendly staff made us very welcome. Roaring fire. Delicious lunch.
This lunchtime we passed this delightful pub with lovely socially distanced tables In the garden and decided to stop for a drink. We walked into a fairly empty room with no obvious Covid instructions. I went up to the bar and was confronted with a volley of barked instructions. “ You can’t be served at the bar” , “ sign in by the door”, “ sit down if you want serving”, “ no you can’t go out that way”. We found our way ,with not a word of assistance to the garden, where we sat and waited and waited until we left.I hate complaining. I’m a hospital doctor who tries to make every person who comes to my clinic feel special. A polite smile goes a long way.
