the pub belongs to the man and the wife of nicola and steve reynolds and had a Michelin star since 2001. they grow their own fruits and sweet and keep their own pigs and chickens. other meat types come from local herefordshire farms and suppliers and credenhill chicks regularly on the menu. fisch is extracted from cornwall with the exception of locally grown trouts. the menu has a seasonal thema so it changes all two... Supposedly the food is still just as good but as I've not tried it I can't comment, they have however recently lost their head chef who was by all accounts very good. Since the once thriving pub has recently changed hands it seems, if you are local you aren't welcome anymore, last orders seem to be 21.30hrs if not sooner, They seem to be only interested in passing trade and room bookings. read moreThe Stagg Inn was highly recommended for its amazing food and excellent location, with a variety of non-alcoholic drinks and delicious dishes like wild garlic pesto and sherry cheesecake. Unfortunately, inconsistent service left diners disappointed. However, the food itself at the Stagg was outstanding, with perfectly cooked pigeon, scallops, and steak. The Harp Inn also received praise for its friendly staff, delicious meals, and accommodating atmosphere for dietary restrictions. Overall, while some visitors had mixed experiences with service, the consistent highlight was the exceptional quality of the food at both establishments.
